“Hi, this is Katie. I'm testing out the new LiveJournal voice post, and the transcribe options. If all goes well, I'll be trying to do more frequent phone blogs. Let me see what's interesting to talk about.

I'm reading this book on mortgages. It's called "The Complete Idiot's Guide To Mortgages, Second Edition" by Jimmy Sutton, and a few other folks. I'm already on chapter 5, so I'm learning a lot on what to expect. It's going to be quite a few details.

I think the most important aspects for purchasing the condo or townhome would be understanding the finances behind the, uh, and the contracts behind securing a mortgage. Finding the right lender, finding the right options, and making sure the contract is clear enough for me, and that I am basically not going to get screwed.

I haven't decided to go, whether or not to look for rates myself or go through a mortgage broker. I'm kinda skeptical regarding the mortage broker because of added fees that can really cause problems. I need to do more research on that. If it's a flat fee, maybe that's not that such of a bad thing.

And then the next important portion of this homebuying process is finding the best realtor to represent me, or the best buyer's agent, and/or real estate attorney to help me if I decide to look at BuyOwner properties myself.

My cat is here rubbing up against me. He's looking for some attention, so, um, the transcribe option has to be left in three minutes so I'm going to hang up and bid you guys good night.

Good night.”
